In food, what do you track? Calories, carbs, Protein? Anything else?

Also, what are your daily calorie, carbs, liquids and protein goals?

I track Protein and Water, but I use Myfitnesspal, so it also tracks calories, carbs, sugars and fat,

I don't pay any attention to the sugars and fats. I do look at the carbs and calories, but I'm not concerned about them.

My daily Protein goal is 70 grams. I usually meet this without going over 1,000 calories.

I track calories, Protein and Water. I find that if I stick to a 10 calorie/ 1 protein ratio my carbs stay in line around 20-50 per day (usually higher if I eat more than 1 Greek yogurt in a day).

Thanks for your responses. I especially like yours LindaS. It kinda answers a question I posted in another area of the boards about carbs. I just cannot eat low/no sugar due to the fact that I hate all sugar substitutes. I'm glad to know I can focus on Protein and not worry so much about carbs and still be successful.

I track Protein and i have a 10-10 rule nothing over 10 grams of fat and 10 grams of sugar per meal. I get 60 grams of protein a day and i struggle with my drinks. I get usually around 40 something ounces :-( its hard for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
