Does it hurt when they pull the pump out?

I'm having mine in syosset hospital and they said I can't have nobody in the room. Only visitor hrs 11 to 8pm. That really sucks

It didn't hurt me when they took the drain out this morning. It was an uncomfortable pressure feeling. I am working on warm to room temp beverages. Walking makes those tense areas feel so much better. Tomorrow I'll be adding unflavored Protein to my broth and crystal lite.

Emily glad your getting to home. I feel 100times better since I got home on Wednesday. I may be crazy but I'm going to try to drink some watered down coffee.< /p>

I have to admit that I had pain when I woke up from surgery. I remember croaking "help me" but then I remember the pain getting better shortly after. I remember throwing up a couple of times in recovery, but it got better pretty quickly. I remember being able to move from the gurney to my hospital bed without too much discomfort. I was up pretty quickly using the bathroom and then walking the hallway about 6 hours after surgery. Don't be too afraid of the initial discomfort.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
