How many fills do you have to have?

Recommended Posts

I don't know how many is too many. I guess you just keep going untill it feels right to you. Nobody knows your body like you do.

The amount of fills and fill amount is dependent on the person and his/her unique anatomy. I have 6.5 cc's as of fill #3 and that seems to be just right for me.

I had my first fill yesterday(11/25). My doctor put 5ccs in. I gurgled when I drank the Water, that was weird. I have restriction now but still not enough. It was hard to eat anything today. I had a 2 deviled eggs(party at work) for lunch and that was it. Then had a Protein Drink and cottage cheese a little later that I had packed for my lunch. Now tonight, I had baked ziti(overcooked noodles) and it went down very easily:(, I ate a little over a cup. I am still hungry so I am going to see if I can eat a salad. Good luck all. Happy Thanksgiving!

I just got my first fill a week ago. I have in 1 cc. I can still eat what I want and I can eat more than a half cup if I choose to. I do notice that I stay full longer. So I am not eating enough. My MD is upset with me because I have been loosing 5 to 6 lbs within a week or so. He says most people loose a pound a week. So I am not sure if he will give me another fill anytime soon. But I don't have restriction in the sense that I can only eat very little amounts, but like I said I stay full longer. Some days if I eat twice a day, I am doing good.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
