Jimmy

I'm having my surgery on Good Friday 4/6 and hope to be home before Easter Sunday.

I feel pretty ready. I was in the Kaiser Options program for 12 weeks which was basically all done in the Fall of last year. It's education classes with a nutritionist and a behavioral specialist. I was cleared for surgery in January but selected April due to family commitments and work - and now I am just around the corner.

Bought my chewable vitamins' date=' started buying some of the items I am going to need once I get sleeved, Soups and Protein shakes.

I'm not afraid of the procedure itself - just hoping that all goes well and that I don't run into any complications.

How about you? What are you feeling?

It's a journey, for sure.

Katie[/quote']

I wasn't afraid either (3/21/12) because I had a full hysterectomy before. But when I saw the surgery room I freaked. They said to me " ok we are gonna send you anywhere you want to go, where do want to anastesia vacation?" I said, I want to shop in a non fat girl store. They asked me to count backwards and I did in dress sizes lol

OMG. I have never eaten out at more restaurants than ever before. Monday Italian' date=' chicken wings the other day, last night wss chinese buffet. Right now my husband is cooking me portuguese chourico that I had flown in to Texas just so I can have some before the surgery.[/quote']

I did too. The consequence was extra holes cause my liver was big and in the way.

I am starting to get anxious but excited. I am April10. I am on my way home from Spring Break and stopping at an outlet mall and not sure what to buy? 1 size smaller. 2 sizes smaller or just shoes? Difficult to imagine being smaller! This is what I want but it's becoming real. I've read other posts stating that they are worried that it wont work. I can understand now that time is approaching quickly. It's in Gods hands now! Best wishes to you and your journey!

I am just buying NOTHING for now. I can't wait to go shopping in a few months though! Lol, my husband says I won't need to go shopping anyway. I have clothes in every size from 20 down to about 6. I think I might get even more excited to be able to fit into some of that stuff than I will be to buy new. Oh, who am I kidding, I'll be thrilled to buy new smaller things too!!

Hi Jimmygotsoul! My surgery is April 12th and I'm experiencing everything you mentioned above but the hubby has been helping me to keep calm and carry on. He asked me something that really made me think. He said "If you don't have the surgery will you be ok with things staying as they are and your health getting increasingly worse and then the surgery not be an option?" That really opened my eyes and had me thinking oh ****! What if my blood pressure got so bad that I could no longer have the surgery. Case closed...lol So I'm moving ahead to the 12th.

You hubby couldn't be more accurate, he definitely hit the nail on head. Actually that is the same reason why I'm so confident right now. I'm mean I have the jitters but I'm human so it's okay. With the obesity numbers rising in the U.S tremendously this surgery will be a life saver for all of us! so I'll be glad to be an sleeve graduate come April 26th lol.

I'm glad youre making the right decision and going through with it. This is a game changer, no its a whole new ball game and I'm excited to be a participant in the main events to come!

Go us!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
