What are you trying? I had trouble too since I slept a lot. I used crystal light the most and switched off with my Protein Drink, muscle milk and it was a chore but I tried to drink every 15 minutes. Sometimes I didnt but I never got dehydrated so I guess I did ok. It will get easier every day so dont worry. Just listen to your body, it will tell you really quickly if you need fluids. Good luck to you on your new journey!

I was given a goal of one oz every 8 to 10 minutes - not more, but not much less either. It required constant sipping. Sometimes little teeny, tiny ones. I would line up the little one ounce cups like shots (especially my Protein drink) and just keep it going. It is a huge chore BUT it does get easier!!!! The first few days are rough. That's why everyone says: sip, sip, walk! sip, sip, walk! It feels that it's all you do. But things do settle down. If you fall behind, it's difficult to catch up because of the volume restriction. But occasionally, when that happend to me, I would just resume where I was and keep the ounces going. I couldn't always get everything in. Again, it gets easier with each passing day. Hang in there kiddo!!! Congrats on your surgery. Hope you are feeling well!!!!

I sucked on ice chips constantly for my first few days out. swallowing actual Water hurt too much but sucking on the chips and swallowing them as they melted didn't hurt at all.

I had a really hard time too. I'm a little over a week post op, and on day 4 I know I was dehydrated. I had the shakes, and was really dizzy upon standing. I tried to drink but it hurt in my chest. Felt like trying to swallow a bolder. I ended up eating the sugar fee ice pops and drinking warm tea and broth. Those didn't seem to have as much problem going down. Seemed like frozen and warm were the only things I could do. Good luck. It's hard but it does get easier.

Good luck it does get better fast. I drank a lot of broth, sugar free popsicles and Powerade zero. Best wishes, speedy recovery.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
