Need Help For Post Op Diet Please...

Recommended Posts

My nectar samples are on backorder. I was supposed to choose my flavors from them to mix with my Bariatric Advantage wild berry punch crystals. So, I decided just to mix a little of the crystals to check out the taste and I don't think I'm gonna be able to stomach that 3 times a day post-op! Before I call my Dr. Office in am since this is what they have in their post-op instructions to take what are some alternatives? Did any of you take Vitamin pills instead after sleeve? Is the double stuff nectar good for first 2 weeks post op? What are some other good flavors? Need to get this stuff ordered soon. Thanks :)

I did some of the nectar Protein - the Roadside Lemonade was pretty decent mixed half with Water and half with lemonade crystal light. Some of the other flavors were too strong.

My surgeon and nutritionist OK'd me to take a softgel Multivitamin (Nature Made multi complete) because I couldn't stand the liquids or chewables.< /p>

I thought the nectar was Ok prior to surgery, after surgery, I can't tolerate it, its just too sweet. I wouldn't order too much. If I could do it again. I would get just enough stuff on hand for about a week, then go to GNC and try stuff....after surgery. My tastes have changed so much. Don't know if it will last but the thought of sweet stuff turns my stomach. Best of luck to you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
