If You Had A Stall How Long Did It Last?

Recommended Posts

I think I'm in a stall or hit a plateau. I've been super good this past week and gained four tenths of a pound. I've done nothing different to cause the slight gain. I am over 4 months post op and have lost well every week so far. If you had a stall how long did it last? Did you have to do something to start losing again? Any advice would be appreciated; thanks.

I had one for 3 weeks and finally broke it. It was my first one and I am 3 months out. I honestly don't know what broke because I kept trying different things, but I did only Protein Shakes for 2 days, then I went low carb, then up carb, then low calorie, and up calorie. So one of those things broke it, maybe a combination?? who knows. The good thing is before I was loosing 2 lbs a week. Now after the stall broke I am down 5 lbs, so I actually almost made up for it. Good luck, I have found it to be the most frustrating thing ever.

I had a stall last 7 MONTHS. . it just moved by itself suddenly, lost 10 lbs and then for the next year nothing. . . so I'm assuming i am now in maintence stage. . .(PS: I did loose 150lbs the first year though) this is going into year 3

I'm at over four months and have been stalled for FIVE weeks!!! Sheesh. As you can tell, I still haven't found the magic combo to make the scale move again. Don't know if there is one...think everyone is different and my body will lose when it's ready, but man is it frustrating!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
