Best of luck to you!!! I also have Cigna and my first seminar is in about 10 days. Over the phone, 4 different agents from Cigna told me there were no qualifiying events that I had to meet other than my surgeon's suggestion for the surgery. Today I got a copy of criteria that needs to be met, from Cigna, which mentioned a 6-month physician-sponsored diet. I knew this was going to be a slow process, but that totally threw me. Have others had the same requirement and how did it work out?

Thanks!

Cigna gave me a pre-approval with my 6mo requirements and then 3 weeks before surgery they denied. I appealed and they were quick to deny again! I went ahead and got a medical loan and paid the (gulp)20k!! Mexico wasn't an option for me on a personal level but a LOT of people go there and have great success for less than half of what I paid. So check into that. Good luck

I have Cigna and had to jump through their hurdles including the 6 month diet. They denied me for the band but it was due to the ins coordinator screwing up my paperwork. My new ins coordinator submitted my info Feb 15. I called a few days later to make sure and was given the 30 business day timeframe. Well, when I called on Wed the nurse said that she was still going through my 75 pages of info but that I should know something by March 7. I'm hoping that it was already approved and she couldn't really say so over the phone and will be dropping a letter in the mail that I should get by March 7...there's a chance that could happen...right? Keep us posted :0)

Did they give a reason for the denial? I'm on my 4th month with them and I will be soooo pissed if they do that to me!!!

I am so sorry for your problems, this is re-assurance in my decision to self pay. I keep thinking maybe I should go through it all but I would be beyond devastated if I went through all the hurdles and were then denied. Please keep us in the loop, I will be thinking of you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
