Hello all!

I've been lurking for a few weeks and feel ready to introduce myself. I was sleeved on Friday 2/24/12 and am struggling the first few days post op. my high weight was 224 and post op weight was 210. I weighed in at 200 lbs this morning! Very excited about that!

I'm struggling with getting all my fluids and Protein and I seem to swallow a lot of air and get hiccups often. How can I fix this?

Anyway I'm excited to start this journey with all of you!

Hi I'm a newbie also. First day on here and my surgery was on 2/15/12. I been having problems with the puréed foods (they are just nasty!) and would rather be on the liquid diet! However cottage cheese goes down real good!

I have been feeling sick and nauseated. Not sure why but could be from my liquid Multivitamin. I think this might be just part of what i have to go through. They say everyone is different.

I can't believe how much weight u have already lost. I think I have lost about 20 so far.

Let me know how you are feeling and how you are doing. Take cake!

Hello and welcome! You look just like Marilyn Monroe!!! ;)

Congrats on your new sleeve! How exciting!! I would just say stay slow and steady when swallowing your water/liquids. I get hiccups when I eat or drink too fast. Also when I am full, I will hiccup. They quickly go away though so it's not that bad.

Thanks for introducing yourself and please keep us informed!! Again, CONGRATS!!!!

Hey Ohjilliankay,

Congrats on your surgery!! I am from Orlando also. Who is your Dr? Mine is Jawad. I was sleeved 2-15-12.. So I'm 2 weeks out today.

I'm not sure about the hiccups. I've gotten them a few times for no reason at all. My problem has been burping.. a lot and loudly. I'm hoping this goes away with time. You'll learn your body's new signals for things with time. It's like starting all over again.

Everyday gets a little better and easier. I feel almost back to normal now except I can't eat a ton of food anymore. :) but that's a good thing!

Hey Merydia710! My dr was Keith Kim at celebration. Where is Jawad? It's been such a huge adjustment! What advice can you share with me.

Do u drink with a straw? I was told not to drink with a straw, because ur sucking up air when u drink, & I was told smart Water is better because it goes down much smoother

Congrats to all of you!! I was also sleeved recently- 2/8. It is a huge adjustment, but a good one! I am still on liquid diet. I get hiccups when I drink too much at a time or when I am tired. Its normal to be "gassy" after this surgery as all of your insides were moved around and lots of swelling still in your pouch. Good luck to you all!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
