February 23Rd Surgery Date

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on the 23rd. As of today, I am wondering what in the world I have done to myself. I did great on the pre op liquid diet, lost 23lbs. I'm pretty miserable now wondering if I will ever be able to eat again. Reading all the posts have been encouraging. I know it will get better.

Day 3 I felt HORRIBLE too. It got better everyday, and still is. Be VERY good about doing the walking and breathing thing. We had the BEST surgeon, right??? ;) Don't be shy with the pain meds either. I hope tomorrow is better for you.

Yes, we did have the best dr. He and the staff have been awesome. I look forward to the results that I am reading about on here. I am wondering how long people took off from work??

I had the same type of meltdown on Day 4- started crying about what I had done. You will get over that as you start to feel better. These 6 weeks on liquids/pureed and soft foods seem to last forever, but when I look at the numbers on the scale or in the mirror and can see a difference, it makes it worth it! Hang in there!

WEll, I work at home, homeschooling the boys, all the other domestic things....Today is 2 weeks out and it's back to work, but coincidentally, it's the first day i've really felt like I can tackle it all. 2 weeks was a nice time span to be off for me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
