Not Feeling "right"... Anyone Gone Through This?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I am 5 months post op. The past 2 weeks I have had a constant headache and am constantly feeling tired. I haven't had labs done yet, my doctor is gone til next week. I have always taken my multi but did not know I needed to be on Iron, Calcium and B12 consistently. But have started those and magnesium after reading about it on here, so about a week on those (taking Iron every 3 days, someone told me to be careful with iron til my labs are done).

Anyone gone through the same feelings, what did it end up being?

Any body have any ideas on why I am feeling so crummy?

Also just thought I would mention i intake 600-800 calories 60-80g Protein and usually 48 oz Water. I know its less than I should but I am drinking a lot, and struggling to get 64 oz.

I think it is a good idea you are going to see your doctor. Honestly, I am not a fan of the 600-800 calorie a day plan, not even for sleevers. Especially if you are exercising regularly, as your body just needs more calories than that to fuel itself. I felt/feel that way when I do not give my body enough fuel. If I average at least 1100-1200 calories a day, I feel good and lose weight. Anything less and I just feel yucky, like you described. This may not be a popular theory with most sleevers it is just what works for me and why I feed my body something healthy every couple of hours.

Yep I was thinking same as poster above. That does NOT seem like enough calories. Even if you are getting Protein first you need enough fuel for your body.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well! Other than the headache and fatigue, do you have any other pain, like your sleeve? Do you have a fever? I hope you feel better soon, please let us know what the Dr says.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
