Ladies - Starting Weight 200

Recommended Posts

I'm 30 days post op (sleeved on 1-24-12) & wondering about weight. I'm 5'6" and surgery weight was 200. I am now at 177. I know we all drop weight at a different rate -but I keep wondering about my "goal" weight. Did most of you get to your goal & what was your goal weight. I have set mine for 130. How long did it take you to get there ? What size do you wear now ? So curious because I dont remember weighing 130 - EVER. Thanks !

I started slightly higher (232) 5' 1. I now weigh 147. I'm shooting for 135 for my goal weight. The surgeon wants me to be 122. That would be uber thin for my frame. I'm not a small frame but more a medium. If I land at 130 that would be great but if not that is okay. It is what it is. I will be happy where I land in the end. Don't stress it ladies. Your body will let you know where it wants to be. Good luck to you both!!!! :)

My starting weight was 311 pounds in November of 2010. The day I had my surgery I was 266 pounds. That was august 16th 2011. I am currently 205, so I have lost 61 pounds since suregery that was 6 months ago. I am in a size 14 now, and I am loving that. My goal weight is 150 pounds, I am 5'8 1/2" so 150 pounds should put me in about a size 6. I dont really care how long it takes me to get there, I know I will eventually. My surgeons goal weight for me was 170, but I want it to be lower, so that is what is going to happen. I have been working out in kickboxing 4 days a week, and hiking 4 miles a week. I dont count calories, carbs, or fats. I dont even really count Protein, I just make sure to eat it first and I drink a whey Protein Shake a day that has 54 grams of protein in it. I really can say that I love the sleeve so much. It has been a real struggle for me since I had my first child to lose weight, and since the sleeve I havent had to worry about it. I just won first place in a bootcamp for most improved on all my statistics, and so I am very proud about that. Most of all I have gotten my life back. I play tennis with my girls, I go walking with all my kids. I even was able to go to an amusement park and fit on all of the rides with ease. I have been mistaken for my husbands new wife...lol I have even been called a milf! The sleeve is the best decision that I have even made for myself. Sorry this is so long, but I just cant help myself. This feeling is soooooo great!

I am 5'6" and also have a goal of 130. Right now I'm hovering at 158. My surgery date was 10/4/11. I know it will come off, it's just becoming a little more difficult to get there. ;) I wear 8 slacks and m to s tops. Love it! I'm looking really good right now! :)

I'm 5'5" and started at 208. I originally set my goal weight at 145 - I'm big-boned and have a decent amount of muscle mass - but I actually got as low as 136. I couldn't really maintain that weight, since it required no Desserts, alcohol, or any other sins, and I wasn't really willing to give those up. I leveled out at like 140-141 and at this weight, I can eat anything. My closet has clothes ranging from XS/4 to M/10, depending on the brand. I weighed 145 in like Grade 9, but I had a totally different body composition back then - I never in my life wore a size Small in ANYTHING until the sleeve, let alone X-small.

I was sleeved 1/18/12. I am 5'3" and weighed 193 at surgery. I've lost 18 lbs. My goal set by the doctor is 130. I'm really looking forward to getting to that weight again. It's been 15 years.

I do not work out everyday...I average 3 days a week...sometimes less as I also have four kids and can't always make it. I LOVE myfitnesspal.com which helps me keep track of everything I eat but I do not deprive myself of anything. Good luck. I remember thinking that my weight loss was going to stop at any minute, this was just to wonderful to really be happening...but it's happening. Enjoy!! :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
