I'm on pureed foods right now too.

I used canned chicken breast and pureed it in my mini food processor with a little mayo, dijon mustard, salt, pepper and a little onion powder. It was very yummy and really hit the spot.

I also made stuffed green peppers and pureed it with a little extra Tomato sauce and it was really good.

Have you tried Greek yogurt? It is high in Protein but you wanna get the unflavored kind. Then you can flavor it with sugar free preserves and sugar free flavoring Syrup like Torani, that's what I use anyway. I am 1 month out and on soft foods now but I still eat the Greek yogurt for snack bc it is soo good and high in protein. Also if you order some unflavored protein, you can mix it in anything you eat. www.unjury.com is where I order from. LOVE their protein! You can make some mashed potatoes and mix the protein in it. They even have protein in the form of cheddar cheese sauce,it's awesome on mashed potatoes or mashed cauliflower if you wanted a healthier option.

I didn't like the texture of the canned chicken but my nutritionist said I would be OK using regular cooked chicken as long as I kept it moist and chewed thoroughly. I actually bought rotisserie chicken from costco and that stayed really moist - I made chicken salad with it with LF mayo during my mushy/puree phase. I ate a ton of cottage cheese and string cheese, both were allowed during that phase for me and high in Protein (I would recommend the lower-fat options of both). I also ate a lot of refried Beans with shredded 2% cheese, a bit of LF sour cream and salsa or taco bell mild sauce.

Is this the same thing as putting the food in the blender?

I was having some Laughing Cow Light swiss wedges with Peanut Butter. Sometimes I'd even stir them together. It's really good. It's the right texture for your stomach without having to actually blend anything. Also, the same cheese with 1/4 avocado is great too. It has important Omega 3's. Gooood stuff. :) Decent Protein too. I also agree with the Greek yogurts. Very high in protein. Some are better than others, so don't give up on them if you try one you don't like.

I tried it but I had to modify cuz the blender didn't want to blend. I just put some Tomato and Water in it to get in blended. I should've put some chicken juice or something but eh. It is so good!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
