Size 10 Jeans! What?

Recommended Posts

As many of you know, my weight lately has been hanging around the same number. I broke into the 160's about 5 weeks ago and stayed at 169 for three weeks, then dropped to 166.5 and have been there for two. It just seems like this stall lasted longer and was immediately followed by another stall. I was feeling a little down yesterday when I realized it was time to measure. I measure every two weeks. Lo and Behold I am down 2 inches in the hips and one in the butt and also a half in my thighs! IN TWO WEEKS! No weight change either. Baffleing. I even measured twice. How can this be? I dont know but I will take it. I guess all that zumba and walking with a weighted vest is paying off. I will be smiling all the way to gym tonite!

My big celebration for today is that I am wearing a size 10 jeans for the first time in 22 years or so. I havent been this small since before I got pregnant with my first child at the age of 22. WOW. Tears of joy. I may not be able to wear all size 10 jeans but by golly I am wearing these! They dont have a lot of spandex either. Very little in fact. I also bought a size 10 blazer and it fits well in the sleeves and all! OMG! I was a size 20 when I started this so I guess I am half my size! I am almost in single digits!!!!! WHAT???? Somebody help me to comprehend this! I am doing this! I love my sleeve!

Yep! that's you in the size 10 jeans. I find that I wear a size 10 in Lee's and they feel and look great. However, in slacks, I wear a size 8. Love it. CONGRATS! Keep smilin as you Rock that Sleeve! ;)

Most of the jeans I am wearing now are 12's and they are getting very baggy however, not all 12s will fit?? I guess its the difference in the cut. I dont care. These jeans are Aura made by lady wrangler. They are super cute and fit my body shape like a glove. I have some 14's, 12's and now 10's in this same brand/style. LOVE THEM. I have a curvy figure like an hourglass so its kinda hard to find jeans to fit my hips and butt and not be gigantic in the waist. These are awesome for people with my build. Thanks women of wrangler! I cant wear a 10 in much else except a suit jacket. The dress pants are a little snug through the thighs/butt in a 10. I will wait patiently........ lol.

Oh, congratulations!!! I totally "get" what a big deal this is--I broke into 12's a few weeks ago and just about flipped out. :-) Way to go!!

Congratulations! That must feel so good!

I was just noticing the same thing - my scale is moving slowly, something like three pounds in the last two weeks. BUT I am down another size in jeans.

Woot woot!

People worrying about stalls should be directed to this thread so they don't panic or feel down. It's so uplifting to know that changes are happening even if the scale doesn't move.

Wow! It's really is nice when you start seeing these kinds of changes. I have had to buy new jeans lately and I took my daughters with me. They kept asking why I was trying on such big sizes and I just didn't realize I was. Years of being used to covering up all the fat had me convinced that I had to. I ended up buying a size 7. Those 7's are baggy now but I bought a cute bling belt to hold them up and I will keep wearing them until they are just ridiculously big. I only have 14lbs to goal and I know they will have to go when I get there. The great part is I have many friends that have had the sleeve after me and they will be able to use them when I'm done. :)

Congratulations on your great success! :D

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
