I just ate a two small bites of sugar free whipped cream and a SF Jello and felt faint, weak, shaky, and sweaty, and maybe a little queazy, I am assuming this is dumping... am I right? Now my intestines are mad and making noises. The whipped cream was sugar free but not Fat free- please don't hate on me if this was a mistake, I am just looking for some nice girl advise.

I had not heard of people who got the sleeve having dumping issues. i thought it was strictly with bypass. But here is what I found:

Gastric Sleeve Complications: Dumping Syndrome

Dumping syndrome is also one of the least common gastric sleeve complications. This happens when foods or liquids with a high content of sugar moves rapidly to the small intestines, but it rarely ever happens since the digestive system is not altered, only the stomach size. However, if this does happen you may experience shaking, sweatiness, lightheadedness and sometimes even diarrhea. So it is a must to go easy on deserts, alcohol and sodas as well.

I would think that it's not technically dumping syndrome because our intestines were not reorganized :) However, I will tell you that there are certain things I can't eat without getting an upset stomach. I find my stomach is a lot more sensitive than it used to be. There are certain things that really keep me in the bathroom. I'm pretty happy about it actually ! lol...it keeps me away from them!

It's not technically dumping, from what I understand, which occurs after bypass surgery and is caused by sugar ingestion. However, as a veteran of many, many diets, I'll tell you (and you have also probably experienced it) that if I ate a piece of fried food after being on a "low-fat" diet for a couple of weeks I was in the bathroom pronto afterwards and the results were not pretty. So yes, I have "dumped" but not in the RnY sense; same outcome, though.

I can't drink milk because it effects me that same exact way. It might not be the sugar it could be the milk.

This is so funny, I too had sugar free whip cream, and let's just say, I was in the bathroom the rest of the evening. I will never eat that stuff again!

Wow... I feel like that around half the time after I eat, no matter what I eat. I'm not even sleeved yet! The doctor told me it was all in my head and to diet and exercise.... yeah.

Don't you love doctors when your overweight. I go in for something like strep throat and they are all like, well if you didn't have a weight problem.... UGH. I have to blame this episode on the amount of fat that was in the whipped cream. I don't think my body could handle that since all it has been getting is FF stuff. Oh well we live we learn, no heavy duty fats!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
