I got a horrible phone call from my son's school today because he got into trouble. It made me sooo mad and when I got off the call all I wanted to do was eat! and eat some more! and then eat some more! I know that I am an emotional eater. I have come to grips with this. So today..since I am on my preop and I hadn't had lunch I got my cottage cheese out and ate it instead of the junk food that I wanted to go and get...Im still mad...and I still want to eat the junk...but I am going to make better choices...

great job! Sorry you got a bad call from the school - however, this proved that you're stronger than the emotional attachment to food!

I am sorry you got a call from your son's school but you are making good food choices so far. I haven't had WLS yet and found out today I am going to have to have a knee replacement surgery. I am so upset. Someone brought valentines Cookies to work and they are sitting in our work kitchen but I have resisted so far and plan to not eat one. When I walked by them earlier, I thought to myself "i could just eat a little piece" but then I thought "no you will end up eating a whole one and you have lost 12 pounds in the last 3 weeks don't blow! You can handle this!"

It is tough!

Good job doing the mental work. It will be an ongoing process to learn to cope with things in healthy ways. The good news is that after surgery, you won't be able to eat eat eat even if you badly want to. This behavior modification tool really does work.

Good job! I'm guessing your son is in for a bit of discipline this evening. :angelsad2: I always dreaded coming home when I knew my parents knew I had been in trouble that day. It wasn't often, but it happened. That and having to bring home bad report card grades. Oh, I'm so glad I'm not a kid anymore.

I know SO WELL the call of food in a time of crisis. You did great today. Next time you go through something, remember how you got through it this time. It's all those successes that make us strong. And really, there's no point in destroying yourself over something like this. Hang in there!

Thank you all so much...just knowing that I have a place that I can go to vent and that people understand means more than you know. I refuse to let this beat me. I am going to win my battle. One day at a time.

Good job! I just experienced an anger spot too. I did want to eat, eat, eat, and I did eat some sugar free See's candy Peanut Brittle. Then I logged it into my fitness pal and was totally shocked by the hugh amount of calories. Wow I learned my lesson! You did good choosing cottage cheese, I'm so proud of you. ;)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
