If you could go back and do high school over, would you? Would you do anything differently?

Can I play again? I'm going to anyways. If I could go back to high school I would take classes that would apply more to the real world.

I actually think that HS is just about worthless and took all 5 of my kids out and put them in college at 16. My youngest just graduated with her Masters Degree a month after she turned 22! I think unless you are taking AP classes or really enjoy the social parts, it doesn't do much to educate you in the things you need to know.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and could only take 2 books, 2 CD's, and 2 DVD's (and something to play them on) what would they be?

I would take:

Books: Cider House Rules and 1984

Movies: Shawshank Redemption and Casablanca

Cd's: Michael Buble's Greatest Hits and Anything by Carly Simon

What was your dream job when you were younger and how did you end up at the one you are now?

"What was your dream job when you were younger and how did you end up at the one you are now?"

When I was in 6th grade, I wanted to be a mortician. At the moment, I have a B.S. in psychology & a certificate in gerontology and I work as a shipping specialist in a warehouse. I ended up in shipping after taking the job as a temp job after graduating in December 2007. Since the economy has tanked, I feel as though I've been kind of stuck in my office job. The primary bright spot is that the office job pays $4-5 more than most of the office jobs in my area.

Do you have any creative hobbies? Do you paint, craft, sculpt?

I sew and knit although I haven't knitted in a while but I think it will come back to me if I tried again.

How many sexual partners u think a woman and a man should have before marriage

I think a woman or man should have at least a couple of sexual partners before marriage, for a couple of reasons. One is that I don't think anyone should buy a "pig in a poke" to quote my granny. The other is that I believe that a good teacher is worth his/her weight in gold, especially when it comes to sex. A good sex life can make up for tons of other problems, or at least make one more willing to work other issues out.

What is your greatest fear?

I agree with you Lissa on the Sex partners question. Though I've been lucky and found mine rather quickly still, I'm glad I had a few to compare it to! :)

My greatest fear is not having all my personal dreams and aspirations not come to pass. I'm holding those reigns however, because I believe with all my heart that as long as you put the hard work in, anything is possible. Sky's the limit.

Whats the one thing in your past you wish you could go back in time and change, and why?

The world is in the palm of our hands, all we have to do is ask for it.....

I wish I could go back to the 5 th grade and change the messages I got about food and exercise more instead having that extra sandwich. :)

What would you change in your world today?

I would of had more sex partners before I got married. I only had one and now I'm regretting that.

My favorite animal is the wolf, I think they are beautiful and I like the pack structure.

For post sleeve: how far away from goal are you? Pre sleeve: when is your surgery?

I'm about 150 pounds away from goal - but I'm going to get to 160pounds first (which is 125 pounds away) and see how I feel there. I'm not sure getting down to 135 is really realistic for me.

Next poster: If you could have one superpower, what would you pick?

I guess my favorite film is the original three Star Wars films. The first one came out when I was in college' date=' and I have a lot of happy memories about seeing the three films in the theatres.

Another favorite of mine is Disney's Fantasia - both the original and the second one - Fantasia 2000.

My question is this - I you could go back in time to a historical event - what would it be and why? Would you be going back to watch something occur, or to talk to an historical figure?[/quote']

I've notice no one aswered this question so I will. Than I will also answer the last poster question.

If I could go back in time to a historical event it would be during the Civil Rights period. To speak with MLK. To get perspective and motivation to take advantage of the opportunities today that others only dreamed about. These last few generations the sense of entitlement is everywhere and young ones don't value education.

My Question: What is your life philosophy and how did it develop and change over time?

If I could have one super power it would be to be able to appear and disappear anywhere I want. That way I'll be able to jump into bank vaults, take loads of money and than vacation in any part of the world.

PS. I already posted a question above to a poster who question never got answered.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
