G2...has Anyone Used This First Week Out From Surgery?

Recommended Posts

make sure you get the low calorie kind i drink it diluted in my bottle of Water the regular gatorade has alot of carbs. also they both have sodium. It helps keep me hydrate. now i use mio to help favor the water.

I drank grape g2 from the beginning. I didn't like Water right after surgery and drink mixins gave me heartburn. It is on our list that we can have it starting wk 2

I used it from the beginning too. Loved it! It was approved by by NUT. I couldn't tolerate Water then, even though I love water. I'm 7 weeks out and still have trouble with water.

Give Powerade Zero a try. I think it tastes better than the Gatorade G2 and it's calorie free. I've been drinking it since week one. I love the grape and fruit punch but it also comes in lemon lime, orange, strawberry and (I think) blue raspberry.

I used the G3-Recover. It's the highest Protein and tastes pretty good. It is not sugar free, but at this point, who worries about calories? You're taking in so little. I got it at Walmart in the powdered protein section. ttp://www.gatorade.com/default.aspx#product?s=recover

My doctor's gave me Gatorade for my long drive home after surgery (several hours). They had me sipping it. I used it for several weeks and I did not have the dehydration or shakes that many get shortly after surgery. I agree that you are taking in so few calories, don't stress about what is in Gatorade!

Best of luck!

I need it once in a while for potassium. I use the zero products now.

I used g2 the 1st wk out and it helped prevent dehydration.

G2 was approved for me from the moment I left the hospital. Grape G2 was a savior as I didn't care for Water or mix-ins at first. I also never struggled with dehydration issues. Grape G2 is still diet staple almost a year out.

Good luck-

Amanda

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
