One week from today I will officially be a member on the "loser bench." I've already lost 11lbs on my pre-op diet and can't wait to see how much weight I'll lose by my surgery day. I go in at 5:15 AM and am scheduled for surgery at 7:30 AM on 2/6/12. The nerves are starting to hit but I know I can do this! Any last advice that will help with my success afterwards and possibly things I will/should bring to the hospital? Thanks everyone for all the support; I absolutely love this site :)

What insurance do you have, that was quick!!!! I have Fed BC/BS. It says three month supervised weight loss program but, I going in to my first appt. armed with my diet history for the whole last year. I also have my letter of medical necessity. I hope it doesn't take too long. :) Heather

By this time next week I should be all hacked up and on my way to a whole new life. It's kind of hard to believe it's really happening.

GOOD LUCK!!! I fly down to Washington next Monday but my surgery is not till Thursday. Everytime I start thinking about it now I get butterflies. I know though that it will all be good and I can't wait to start the losing process.

I have BCBSNC. I didn't need a supervised medical diet but i did need proof of my weight, height and bmi for the last 5 years. my whole process took me less than two months and that's because i stayed on it and made sure everything was ok for insurance. good luck on your journey!

We are ALL the same day! COOL I know we are all SOOOO READY!!! I'm glad I have some buddies on here :) I started my liguid pre-op diet yesterday, woke up 4 pounds lighter today. I know that won't happen every day but would be nice to lose a pound a day this week. Of course I have had a mojor headache since yesterday afternoon.

I had a RMB resting metabolic rate test done yesterday and it says mine is 1930 which the nut said is towards the high side for a woman so that's good! I hope it stays high for while, I'm sure it will go down quite a bit when I lose more weight unfortunatly.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
