I am interested to see how this polls turns out. My surgeon doesn't like me to strictly count calories, but I do anyway!

Well, I voted NO, because I no longer count calories. Last year when I was trying to lose weight, I became completely obsessed with counting calories. And I do mean obsessed with the calorie content of absolutely everything I ate.

It of course did no good. I will still take a couple of days a month and just "spot check" to see where my calories are. They typically run 1100 - 1400, on my Low days I eat less, on my High days I eat more.

I didn't used to count calories, but after loooong runs of plateaus, and it being harder to lose the less you need to lose...well, I had to take a look. I have been using sparkpeople.com and it has helped alot. What I DON'T get is why I'm eating 1200+ calories on MOST days, 1500-1600 on a few other days, over the last 2 weeks and I have lost...but not dropped like I thought I would. I finally got under 180, but seem stuck there, just like always. ??? And the percentages for carbs, fats, and protiens for my calories are right on, too. Any ideas anyone? Oh, I'm also exercising 3-4 days a week. Curves and brisk walking (a few miles).

Should I start my own thread?! LOL

I started counting because it is so easy take a bit of this and a bit of that. Since I went for my last fill and the Doctor laid down the law to me my head is where it needs to be and I count every little bit. You know it is not hard to get to your total cal. when all you are consuming is 500 to 700 cal a day.....

After 25 years of dieting, I find it impossible not to be aware of the calorie count of whatever I'm eating, but I dont count them on purpose.

I know I generally get in around 1500 to 1800 calories a day now I'm banded, and it has worked for me so far, I do a lot of exercise. But I probably should be shooting for 1200 to 1500 and to do that, I'd have to specifically count calories, which I cant really be ars*d doing, I'm too lazy.

Sooner or later I will pull my finger out and get to it though.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
