Omg...i Hurt, I Want Food And I Can't Tolerate Milk Products

Recommended Posts

THis sucks!! I can have Clear liquids and soft foods this week, but the only problem is all soft foods on the list are milk products and I can't tolerate them. THey REALLY upset my stomach. I'm getting to the psychological part of it now that i haven't eaten in a freakin week and EVERYthing on TV looks awesome. I know this is just a phase and it will pass, but it's just frustrating that I still have to stick with Clear Liquids cause nothing else works. I'm basically living on crystal light, popsicles, Jello and wonton Soup broth. I'm afraid to try the shakes again cause i can't take that pain anymore....even though if I make it with Water it shouldn't hurt (like it did when I made it with milk).

Anyone else going through this??

The powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Protein sat better with me the first week out. I had to order it online, but it was worth it to me. I am lactose intolerant post-op, but I can tolerate greek yogurt. Have you tried it? 23 grams of Protein per cup in Fage 0. I also like the taste of 8th Continent Soy Milk Original. 80 calories and 8 grams of protein per cup. Sometimes I heat it up and add a little sugar free caramel Syrup.

I can also tolerate firm cheeses and goat cheese, but that may be a bit advanced for your current program.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Lynda

Soft foods? Or thick liquids?

For soft foods- What about apple sauce? Mashed potatoes, mashed banana, porridge or cream of wheat?

If you're doing more thick liquids, roast veggies and chicken pureed with chicken broth and 1/2 scoop of chicken Unjury. This was my staple food, then I'd add different spices for different flavors ( taco seasoning for Mexican, butter chicken for Indian, etc)

Google it, you'll find lots of ideas!

I have been lactose intolerant for years so I use skim Lactaid milk, naturally lactose free Cabot cheeses (there are others I think) and room temperature ready to drink lactose free Protein drinks such as Oh Yeah brand. Lactaid also has a yogurt & cottage cheese. (I don't like yogurt or cottage cheese so I haven't tasted it.)

I second the unjury chicken at this stage. That and Isopure "fruit juice" were great. Best wishes!

Oh dear, you should be looking at the lactose-free dairy products. I've been lactose-intolerant since childhood so post-op I didn't even chance it and went right to Lactaid. There's also so many non-dairy options out there (soy, rice, almond milks). Check your store's organic section. Don't let yourself keep suffering!

Another idea is to try goat milk. It is very good for you and easy to digest. Only downfall: pricy. I prefer goat milk products to cow.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
