Are You Happy With Your Choice?

Recommended Posts

I am glad I had the sleeve - I feel like now I eat they way I only wished I could before. I like it because I'm not hungry like I was on "diets" and I have control over my food decisions - whereas before if something sweet was in the house it called my name until I ate it. It is really a blessing.

If I had diabetes I probably would have done the bypass - nothing wrong with that surgery but I didn't want to worry about dumping.

I've been very happy with my sleeve. The first 10 weeks were awful, but even when I was feeling horrible and shaky and dizzy and nauseous I was still extremely happy with my decision and would do it again in a heartbeat. I continue to have success with the sleeve, it's absolutely hands down the best thing I have ever done for myself.

I can tell you this, I'm happy I got the sleeve... over the moon happy!! That said, in relation to getting the sleeve over bypass, I will never know because I only have the sleeve. I would not be against having the bypass or the DS in the future if I really needed to.

If you are on the fence about both, the best thing to do is:

Pull out a sheet of paper and do pro's and con's on both. List your co-morbidities and use that as a guide map on your final decision.

Good luck!!

I am 100% happy with my decision, zero regrets, would do it again in a heartbeat!

That being said, I think everyone has to do what is best for them and no matter what WLS you choose, PUT THE TIME, EFFORT, ENERGY and FOCUS into making it work for you. Learn the rules of your tool and use whatever tool you choose to the best of your ability!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
