Fgf: What Are You Doing Today To Get To Your Goal?

Recommended Posts

How do you drink so much Water if you are only supposed to have 4 oz of Fluid at a time and then have to wait for 1/2 hour? Or am I confused?

Later on it is easier to get lots of Water down. At least it was for me. I take about three small gulps... then I have to wait a few seconds/minutes, then three more... and like that. I feel full, then all of a sudden not. Its the stomach opening up its pylorus and letting the contents through. Your stomach also does get bigger as the swelling goes down and you can hold more.

I started my day out yesterday with a 20 minute session on my eliptical. This morning I did a Zumba class. Trying to do something physical every day now.

Love my sleeve!

Today I resolve NOT to cheat on my self inflicted preop diet!

I almost wish that my surgeon required a preop diet because then I would feel accountable to him, but he doesn't so I have only myself to hold me accountable. That's never worked for very long in the past..... I'm hoping I can make it through the next 3 1/2 weeks without any weight gain!

I also wish Dr. Simon made you lose 5% of your weight pre-op, and gave you a liquid diet pre-op. Since he didn't i kind of went a little bursirk (msp) and ate a bunch of terrific foods, that i knew i should not have. I figured i would eat like there was no tomorrow. So i punished myself - but i learned the hard way.

So i guess i went on one of those food funerals. But my funeral lasted a couple of weeks. :( So i did gain weight. But that weight now is gone --but i have regrets that i goofed up, but its behind me and i am only going to look forward.

Good luck on your self imposed pre-op diet. I'm sure you'll do great. Then enjoy your long journey with the sleeve, it will be a wonderful experience for.

Good Luck

kathy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
