You will lose that and some! I've lost 19 lbs in 9 days. Good thing because I gained close to that after I had my band removed in June. 11/5 will be here before you know it. Good luck to you!

My first visit to the doc the nurse measured me and said...oh I'm not sure it's quite 5'. I gave her a very stern look and asked her to check again......

Ahhhh Iggy....that's what the nurse told me too....I did manage to hit 4'12" when I stood up straight and went on my tippy toes, just a little....my license says 5' even but its just a dream of mine....

Giggle...isn't 4'12" the SAME as 5'0"..smile.. just saying. I thought it was cute.

I'm 5'0, was 206 but after setting my date 3/28/13 I've changed some eating habits and I'm now 198.5. It can't get here fast enough!

Hello all.. I always thought I was 4ft 11 in and after being measured at the hospital, I'm only 4ft 8in. Started this journey at 278 and was sleeved Oct 6th by Dr Kelly in tj. Recovery has been a piece of cake, and I'm paranoid that something bad is around the corner. I'm also down 30 pounds since surgery.

Another member of the "will be a dwarf by the time I hit 65 club" here ! 5'0" and sleeved on Sept. 18, 2012. Still having some difficulty eating and drinking and probably losing some muscle, but hey, muscle can be rebuilt right ! Not losing at light speed here, but will take every pound I can get and be so thankful for it !

I'm 4'10' date=' scheduled for sleeve next week. I had a lap band that was unsuccessful due to placement. I had it removed in June and had to wait for my stomach and ulcer to heal. I am ready to go now! I think I may be the biggest on here with my peak being 273, I'm currently at 253, so I have a lot of work ahead of me! I'm so ready! Any suggestions going into surgery? Oh yeah...I am traveling from Texas to my hometown in Florida for the surgery. I have a wedding to attend 4 days post op and after my post op appointment (10 days post op) I will be flying back alone with my strong willed 4 yr old...am I crazy or what?!?[/quote']

I haven't read through all these posts but wanted to let you know that you're not the highest starting weight. I am 5' 1.5" and was 286.2 lbs when I started my pre-op diet 2 weeks before surgery. It's almost 8 months since then and I'm down 112 lbs. I also am a Lapband revision. I'm thrilled with my progress especially considering I was told that with a revision I would lose slower.

I live in Florida and had my surgery at Flagler Hospital in Saint Augustine by Dr Marema. I can't recommend him and the US bariatrics group enough. My whole experience has been fantastic.

I wish you and all of the others who are seeking surgery all the best.

Susie.

Susie, thanks for the encouragement! If I have a weightloss similar to yours, I will be sooo pleased. You must feel great! I am 5 days post op now, I had a rough start and spent the first 3 in ICU but all is well now and I am working through the emotional funk with little physical pain to get through my recovery. I wish you well and thanks for sharing!

Hello ladies! I'm Erika, 5'1" and started my preop journey in January at 258 lbs. Now I'm right at 235 and my surgery is scheduled for this Friday, November 9th in Jacksonville Florida with Dr. Rao. I am getting nervous!!! I'm 37 and don't recognize this chubby girl in the mirror :( I am looking forward to feeling fierce, vivacious and energetic again! I'm insulin dependent (type 2) and so ready to say good bye to needles!

If love to see pics of you ladies from months ago-how are y'all doing? Goals met?

Thanks!!!

I am 5 ft tall. Weighed in at 209. My weight battle started 7 years ago after thyroid cancer. My surgery date is Nov 6th in 2 days! I can't believe it is finally here! I am 38 with 2 daughters ages 2 and 4. So i am praying for no complications and a quick recovery. Very nervous but excited. It took me a while to make this choice. I am looking forward to being healthy again.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
