I am checking in with my sleeve community to let you all know that I am 1 day post op and ouch! I'm very uncomfortable, I get why "gas" hurts so bad and my head is doing all the stuff you all told me it would. I am making a choice to completely surrender to this process. Instead of feeling regretful because I don't feel well, I choose to believe in your success stories. Not one of you said you were sorry so my goal for today is to walk, follow direction and continue to have faith! Faith that this will pass and that I will be a strong and healthy woman as a result of the choice I made!

I am glad to hear you doing well and I am wondering to how I am going to feel today after my surgery. I hope to not regret my decision. I will take your words and use them today as I go under.

Your doing great so far. I felt ok my first day and thought I would be typing away, but I didn't feel like it for almost a week. So good for you. I just had my 3 week check up and Ive lost 30 pounds. So keep walking its the best thing you can do. Best wishes to you.

I agree with lisagh - your positive attitude is going to help greatly with your success! I'm 9 days post op and I was all prepared to wake up from surgery with feelings of regret, but so far it hasn't happened! Banane55.gif

Good luck to you!

My surgery is less than 1 week away. I do have a love affair with food, but like you, I'm going to embrace the new life. I've only been on the liquid diet for a week and feel so much better.

I PROMISE you... it gets better each day!!! I was like, Hell Tina, why didn't you get a hair cut or a new purse!!! Then I told myself, you wanted this, you needed this.. time for the big girl pill!!! Each day got easier is some aspect.. by the time I was home from the hospital, I was getting up and doing things on my own!!..

Keep a positive attitude and you'll continue to improve...

You guys were all right! I'm home from the hospital now and it is getting better with each passing day! It's just sore, not really painful and have spent my day alternating walks with small naps. The weird part is that I feel like I should be eating but I'm not hungry. I guess that's what they refer to as " head hunger". Other than that, all is well!

I am glad to hear you are doing better. The nurses at the hospital were very nice but I was so happy to be back in my own bed. I had the same "head hunger" sensation but I really had no appettite. I an my 2 week of full liquids and I am so looking forward to pureed food next week.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
