I had eggs for my first semi solid food and it was awesome. The only thing is I just had one egg and nothing more. I m quite full now and don't want anything else. Will this change? I'm just worried about getting enough Protein daily. Also, why is it that we need to separate drinking liquids? I was kinda thirsty.

7 weeks out. I can manage 1 egg and a slice of bacon or a sausage. I hear that people are able to eat more as time goes by.

The drinking with meals causes the food to flush through your sleeve faster. Some people purposely drink so the food will go down so that they can eat more.

I have to admit that this is one problem I still have and on occasion I forget and just take a drink. I don't think that it will "harm" you. But it's probably something you don't want to make a regular habit.

It's the one thing it seems ALL the doctors and clinics agree on.

I don't know when you had surgery but seems by your post that it was after me. I am 6 1/2 weeks out and finished my first egg today. I barely did it and was full for a very long time. So you are doing great. At this stage you should still supplement with a Protein Shake to reach your goals. Balancing eating real foods, not drinking for an hour after eating and still meeting my Fluid and Protein goals have been a little challenging for me. It is getting better every day though. Best wishes!

I am one year out and it makes me physically sick if I drink to soon after eating. And it really depends on the food...salad goes through quicker than lets say a dense Protein like steak or chicken or ground beef. I had 1 egg and 1 slice of bacon and 1 piece of toast for dinner tonight and I was full. I always eat my protein first. I remember when I first added eggs to my menu after surgery i was so excited I cooked 3 scrambled eggs and then laughed because I knew there was no way I could eat all that!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
