Hi there! I had a hard time sleeping too for the first few weeks. I'm a side/tummy sleeper as well and it was hard to get comfortable. After about a week and a half I started to put a soft pillow between my stomach and the bed, that seemed to help.

Also, Melatonin will help to get you to sleep. You can find it all over, in Vitamin sold places. Also, the Celestial sleep Time tea helps right before bed. HTH

sleep early on is difficult. My DW made a pocket of pillows that I nestled in which kept me resting at about 60 degrees upright. I have heard of some people living out of a recliner for the first few weeks.

I started laying flat after about 3 weeks, not on my back, but not on my side, either. Wife stuffed a pillow behind me. I think I was back to side sleeping at about 6 weeks.

You should be fine now. Give it a try tonight :) hope it works for you, if not it will get better eventually...I was dying because I sleep on my side with a body pillow and I couldn't do it for a while.

thankfully i have an adjustable bed so i can lift the legs and the head at different angles, but i am a side sleeper/tummy sleeper so its just hard.. thanks guys im hopin it gets better with the next few weeks cuz sleepin like this is killing my back, and i wake up all stiff.

I guess im doin ok for only bein 2 weeks out, but yea it would be nice to get back to regular patterns. lol

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
