Not Sure If I Am Doing Okay?

Recommended Posts

My surgery was on July 13, 2011. I have lost about 60 lbs (highest weight 273), depending on the day. I have gone from a 22 to a 12/14. I Feel good but not sure that I am doing good. Can anyone tell me if this the good track or am I a little behind. They whole 3 month I might have lost 1 lb. I need advice I am getting s little discouraged.

your right on track you have to keep in mind it's only been four months. In four months I lost about the same. But the questions truly is are you exercising and getting in your Protein and Water? Don't get discouraged you come this far all you have is success in your path way and you will achieve if you so believe it. i was right there with you. I'm now 8 months out and very close to goal. So you will be there too. You didn't gain weight over night don't expect to lose it all over night but it will come.. You've done so well..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
