My Gastric Sleeve Surgery Is In 16 Days

Recommended Posts

December 21st. That is the day I take the plunge. I am nervous, scared, and excited. My goal is 175 lbs. I feel that I will achieve, but of course, I worry about the finality of it all. Then I remember ho long I have pondered this and that I am ready. Ready for change, ready for commitment, ready for life. I am not going to be consumed by the claustrophobia of limitations. I am ready to go easy, be contented, and savor moderation. I'm not a dog in the pound. The food will not run out. I will have plenty. Plenty of life, love, and peace. Change is coming and I am prepared for it.

That's a good way to look at it - my date is 12/27! I'm still nervous as well, but not enough to let it stop me from going through with it! No way! :biggrin2:

Congratulations, it is almost time. You said something that is so key, "the food will not run out." I remind myself of that when I am eating something I really enjoy, and want more, but am full. I remind myself, I can't eat any more of this now, but I can enjoy it again later. Having that kind of control is a wonderful feeling.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
