Pcos Resolution Post- Surgery?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am having the sleeve done as a cure for my pcos and infertility. I am wondering if anyone has had the surgery for this purpose and been successful. (Unable to have children before the sleeve, able to have children afterward.)

Thanks.

One of my main reasons as well for the surgery. I have heard somewhere on the forums that there was a study of 500 women who were unable to conceive prior to surgery and they were all 100% able to conceive afterwards. So I hope that means a yes for me. :)

When I went to my first information session for the sleeve one of the bits of info the nurse gave us was that we needed to have a good form of birth control ready because fertility goes way up as the weight comes off. My Dr asks that his patients not get pregnant for two years after surgery. I don't know if this is a standard or just what he thinks is best.

Not sure if thats the standard...my surgeon asks that his patients don't get pregnant for 1 year. I even had to sign a contract lol :)

On of the surgeon websites (it's in Hebrew so I'll spare you the link) claimed that there's 86% chance to get rid of PCOs-related symptoms post-op.

I'm 4 weeks post op and had surgery for the same reasons. My surgeon says that VSG can resolve up to 85% of PCOS cases. LapBand was only about 40%!

My PCOS seems to be completely gone now! Based on blood work and an ultrasound in October my GYN says I no longer fit the criteria to be DX with PCOS! The BEST part though is that after 7 years of TTC before surgery, I got pregnant on the first month I stopped using the pill! I am now 8 weeks along and baby looks fantastic!! Good luck!

I was sleeved on 2/8 and besides being healthy by losing weight I wanted to be sleeved to resolve my PCOS and hopefully have a baby in the future. I don't get my period at all and currently not on BC. I hope it comes soon.

Well, I was sleeved 12/5. Prior to surgery my last period was in August... Within 4 days of surgery I finally had one and was so happy I could cry.... Today- although thankful for it I can't wait for it to get regular! I'm on my 4th period since surgery 2.5 months ago!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
