Your most exciting NSV

Recommended Posts

Looking back over the past 17 months - remembering this journey of mine, from the time I attended the siminar in April of 2010 - I'd say THE most exciting NSV I've had was seeing my collar bone!!!!!!! Wow, it was so cool, and I still like seeing it in pictures!

Hip bones were neat too, but realizing I have a real collar bone has been by far, the best NSV. Second place is the day I bought a pair of jeans at the GAP - size 4!!! I have 4's, 6's and a size 8!! I can wear the 6 when I'm having a "fat" day - but the size 8, I haven't worn them since January!

I'm curious as to what the most exciting NSV has been for the rest of y'all....c'mon, share!!

There have been many many many!

But I'd have to say my very best NSV was when I actually completed running my first real 5K event. :) I never stopped to walk any of it. That was the best feeling I've ever experienced. Especially since barely one year ago I was scheduled for my first of two knee surgeries.

I love my sleeve!!!

I would say having to use a safety pin to keep my dress pants from falling. They didn't have a belt loop lol

Christmas of 2010 I got my mom a pair of dress pants as one of her Christmas presents. She couldn't fit them and in all of the Christmas rush and confusion, I couldn't find my receipt so I just kept them. You know how you have that pair of pants or that dress and you don't get rid of it/them because they are your "one day I'll be able to get into that" item. Well, just on a whim, last Friday I tried on the pants and although the scale has been moving at a snails pace not only could I fit the pants they were loose!!

It was cold the other night after a concert, and my husband put his coat around me--it was WAY too big for me! I used to be unable to wear his shirts/jackets/etc. and now they're really, really big. I love finally being smaller than him. :-)

Third Place: fitting into a size 6 jeans from old navy! So far I have gone from an 18 to 6

Second Place: being able to walk for miles without missing a beat, last summer I could barely walk to the store without being out of breath and feeling like I was going to die.

First Place: My diabeties going into remission, I was on 4 pills a day and bordering on going back on insulin shots to keep it under control.

ooo, what a good post:

I love that ppl call me tiny, skinny, and I'm melting b4 their eyes..... from shopping in only the plus size section size 16 pants and a 1x in tops..and now to a size 4 or 6 (depends on the maker of the pants) and either a small or med on the tops....

Seeing my bones in my hips, ribs, neck are awesome feeling too.

I can't possibly just choose one ;) Crossing my legs was huge, seeing my collar bones, hitting my size goal of an 8 (and even better now having 8s being WAY too big and actually was able to put on a size 4 the other day!!), not being scared of the camera and allowing people to take pictures of me now, just to name a few ;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
