Christmas Challenge!!!

Recommended Posts

You are not alone! I keep bouncing between 186 and 188 and it just seems like loosing weight the past month and a half has been like pulling teeth. I might do the same thing and go to all liquids too. I have an appt w/a registered dietician tomorrow to see what she thinks. My surgery was out of state, so this is someone I went to for part of my insurance approval- but she is pretty familiar with people who have gone through weight loss surgery. Want her opinion on what is happening. My size 12 jeans are fitting pretty loose though since a month ago. Still so hard to not see the scale move when I'm staying on the program!

Still no change in my weight loss since I started the challenge. I've went back to Protein shakes and exercise and I'm hoping to see some changes. My clothes feel bigger but the scale is not moving:(

Not doing very well at all. I'm thankful that I gained no weight during the week of Thanksgiving, but it's not looking good to meet my goal. Just have to keep working at it, maybe something big will "break" between now and then.

started challenge at 233.....weight today 231.....goal of 220.....2 lbs lost, 11 more to go

Hi all,

I'm down just .2 lbs. this week. I will have to work hard to meet my goal. I need to lose about 5 more lbs in the next 23 days.

I really slacked off this week. I've had Snacks every day and I missed three workouts. I did have a great week decorating for Christmas. It was so much easier this year, 100 lbs. lighter than last year.

My goal for the coming week is to work out on each scheduled workout day and to cut back on snacking.

Lynda

My Christmas Goal also includes reaching the following goals:

154 lbs.: I'm a NORMAL BMI!!!! and I have 19 lbs. to goal

154: I've lost 100 lbs total - 32 pre-op and 68 post-op. I'm in the Century Club!

152: I've lost 70 lbs. post-op

149: My number starts with 14. I haven't weighed this since the mid-90s.

146: I've lost 10% of my total body weight for the fourth time since the operation. I have less than 10% of my body weight to go to goal, so it will be my last 10% loss.

145: 10 lbs. to go to my final goal!

144: My Christmas goal and I've lost 110 lbs. (32 pre-op and 78 post op). 9 lbs. to my final goal!!!

Christmas Goal:

SW-157.9.............CW-148.9...............Christmas Goal-144

Oct 28: 157.9

Nov. 4: 155

Nov. 11: 152.8

Nov. 18: 150.4

Nov. 25: 149.1

Dec. 2: 148.9

Things definitely slowed down for me in November. I only lost 6 pounds for the month. I'm going to assume that December will be a similar month.

Started the challenge at 163 the day after Halloween. My Christmas goal was 148 which required a 15 lb. loss. This may have been too ambitious.

CW is 157 = - 6 lbs.

Pounds to goal = 9

If I lose another 6 pounds for the month of December than that will put me at 151 on New Years and I would be happy starting my new year at that weight. I have to remind myself that this is not a race and that I will eventually get there, feeling better and better along the journey.

Same thing this week, still bouncing between 186 and 188. Saw a nutritionist this past week and she thinks even though I'm eating 3 meals a day that I'm not getting in enough calories. She suggested I add in 1 or 2 servings of milk a day plus a fruit. I have now learned I am lactose intolerant. I drank some milk this past week, had a little sugar free pudding and a little ice cream (a test of another milk product) and very little of each item had me cramping and in the bathroom shortly afterwards.

I think I may try Clear Liquids for a week or two and then go back to my Protein. Need to break this stall!!!

As everyone has said, loss slows down considerably the further along you go. I had hoped to be at goal by my 1 year surgiversary but it appears that would take an act of God. I am not going to get discouraged though as I am at a point that I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be at 10 months after surgery. I am going to be more diligent on my food tracking, up the exercise and focus on decreasing the carbs that have crept back in.

Well, yesterday I went back to the Clear Liquids. Am tired of this darn stall. Am sooo thankful for this tool because I wouldn't last a day on clear liquids before. I'm not hungry persay, but do kind of have a desire for "real" food. I'm going to stick to this for at least a week though.

I'm planning a trip to go see a friend of mine living in Germany next Spring and I'm also going to have an opportunity to spend a week riding classically dressage trained Lustiano or Andalusion horses in Portugal. They have a weight restriction of 180 and w/out clothes I'm only 4# over that, I want to be AT goal by the time I get there- so I'm determined to get this going!!

Surgery weight: 271

Starting Halloween weight: 195

Current weight: 184

Xmas Goal weight: 175

Final Goal weight: 135

lbs to reach goal for Christmas Challenge --- 11

Not sure what’s going on this past week and half. Going to step up on the eliptical 2x a day for shorter times. Maybe my body is getting used to doing all of the time at once.. Anyhow, I am officially in the 230’s yay. At my dietician group session yesterday I learned I’m forcing way too much Protein into my body on a daily basis. My RN told me 95 grams of protein a day and 64 oz. but yesterday she asked me why so much? Uhh, because you told me to! So now I’m not gonna beat myself up too bad if I’m meeting the 60 or 65 grams a day. I still need to keep my food journal just to be honest with myself. I still don’t eat bread, rice or Pasta so I’m not quite sure how I can shake things up but my goal before the 17th is 5 lbs.

11/5 – 246 lbs

11/11 – 244 lbs

11/20 – 243 lbs

11/26 – 240 lbs

12/7 – 239 lbs

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
