Well. 11 months, 40 lbs, lots of apts, and angst, I AM A SLEEVER! Procedure went very well. Only complication was I had a reaction to the PCA morphine, and had dry heaves for about 12 hrs until they figured out what was going on. The post-op UGI was pretty rough- just couldn't keep the contrast medium down. I came home on day 3, and have been working to get the fluids in. Problem I am having is that I have a painful bubble of gas with each swallow, and it takes me a lot of time and discomfort to get a glass of Water down. I am only getting about 20-30 oz a day including one Protein Shake. Does this settle down? My NP though I may have some swelling from the vomiting and that it will just take a bit more time. Anyone eles with this experience?

I had my sleeve done on the 14th, and my Upper GI showed alot of swelling also...the contrast was dribbling thru the end of my stomach and refluxing pretty bad. I had to stay an extra day in the hospital because I couldn't drink, so they gave me steroids to try and shrink the swelling and I'm taking Protonix for the reflux. I'm still having trouble with the reflux, and I've noticed the gurgling is still happening alot. I know what you mean though, it feels like you've swallowed a bubble with every drink-pretty uncomfy!! I burp all the time lol Hopefully it will get better as we go along!!

I had a poor reaction to the anesthesia as well! It was harsh having the dry heaves for hours after the surgery. I find I am full of gas as well at 3 days post op. I am trying to walk quite a bit and that helps move the gas out.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
