Feeling Nauseous

Recommended Posts

So I have been feeling nauseous almost all day all the time! I really don’t like to eat much and I am so turned off to Protein Shakes (yuk!) Has anyone else become addicted to sugar free mints or sugar free hard candies to prevent from throwing up?

Also, I’m getting 600-800 cals a day and taking my Vitamins and most days I get in my 8 glasses of Water or crystal light. Doc says that the nauseous feeling should go away but I am starting to resent food period…lol! Hoping not to develop a non-eating problem here! :(

Basic fact of life, you need to take in food to live so you will get back to eating. There is a difference to being nauseous and throwing up. Try slow on foods, try some toast or saltines. Chances are when you were a kid your mom gave you crackers and milk. Go back to basics. Take in a little cottage cheese. You don't need to eat a lot just start off small and add a little each day. Else, perhaps the doctor can give you something for the nausea.

Thanks for the reply. I have not thrown up once since surgery on 8/15 thank goodness. However, I've felt nauseous since 4 weeks after surgery. Now I'm sure its 90% mental but its still very challenging! As for crackers, have to be careful on the carb intake and not start bad habits my doc says. so, I have tried to focous. As for toast, I don't like bread anymore. It feels so heavy and uncomfy that I rather not eat that. And eating slow...lol if u eat any slower it will take a week to eat a cup of food....lol

Now the cottage cheese I have not tried. I have never cared for it so just never tried but I will today. Again, thanks for the reply. Hoping to find someone that has experienced the constant nauseous feeling.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
