I am so frustrated with my lack of weight loss. I had my 6 week check up today and I'm only down twenty pounds since sugery. I have two friends that had the surgery. One a week and a half before me and she's down forty. Another that had it three weeks after me and she's down thirty. I lost 15 in my two week preop diet. I should of just continued with that. It just makes me want to cry. Ugh....I just needed to vent.

Hugs!!! You are in this for the long haul, and the weight will come off. Be proud of what you've lost and try not to compare yourself. In the meantime though, vent away. We'll listen and cheer you on anyway. :)

I am 25 days post op. I lost 18lbs preop, 11lbs by 11 days postop and then bam... Stalled. I've lost 1.5lbs in 2 weeks.

I am on full liquids consisting of 3 protien drinks and 2 yogurts a day. It's so disappointing to be on such a restrictive diet and not lose the weight.

The nutritionist tells me it's normal.

At this point, I regret having the procedure done.

I stalled for at week 2 for 3 weeks and it was expected but frustrating! After that the weight has come off steadily. Do not be discouraged!!! The sleeve will work but the body has to adjust after significant weight loss. Don't let this upset you to the point that you stray from your plan. I am a person who wants to see immediate results or I feel like throwing in the towel but I can tell you 100% that if you stick to your plan the weight will start coming off again. Get into your food habits, try to exercise when you can and the weight loss will pick up again. You can do it!!

:)

Slower can be better for your skin! the weight will come off don't worry! You lost a lot pre-op so your body is probably just being stingy with letting pounds go now. Hang in there and keep on doing what you know you are supposed to do! This is just the beginning!

I know this is hard to hear, but everyone's journey is unique. It's frustrating when others are losing faster than you are, but there are SO many reasons this can be so, and the most important one is, it's your body, and it's unique, and it's going to do its own thing. You can rage away, and be frustrated, and let it derail you from progress, or you can relax, accept, and hang on for the ride. You WILL lose weight - it's inevitable post-op, because your calorie intake is so low. You may lose it in spits and spurts, you may lose slow and steady, but you will lose it. The question is, will you learn to change your habits to keep it off 3, or 5, or even 10 years from now? Think of this journey as a marathon- focus on the long term goal, and make steady progress, and enjoy the journey. Try to fight the temptation to compare your progress to others - it won't change anything, and can be frustrating and counter-productive. Hang in there!!

Think of it this way: you've been loosing at a rate of 3.33 pounds per week; that's almost 1/2 pound per day. That's great! I'm sure you'll continue to loose on your journey.

My best advise is to stop right now comparing yourself to anyone else. Keep your eyes on you own goal and journey and you will be much less stressed out. It is all about you and not anyone else, babe. Kathe

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
