I'm still sore. At home resting now. Not hungry but sipping Water to stay hydrated. Very weak and tired but walking around my place is ok. For now I have no desire to actually eat. Maybe I will soon. In pain but not enough to take that nasty liquid lortab. Gonna try sleeping some more. Talk to y'all later.

You all are the best. Still a bit sore but time heals all wounds. I feel stronger daily. My SO made bacon for herself this morning. Normally a good smell but I found it quite repulsive. Been hanging in there with homemade lemonade and Water. Heard a few stomach growls but they went away with the lemonade.

So glad everything went well! I had the same thing with the anesthesia, had to stay an extra night in the hospital cause I couldn't keep anything down. Wishing you the best recovery!

EacThanks everyone. Still slow moving around. The nausea seems to be gone but still sore. Had half a thingy of jell-o. Walked to my mailbox and back. I go back to see my surgeon (Dr Teng) on Wednesday. Yes, the first 36 hours post surgery I was dry heaving almost every minute. I'm certain it was the anesthesia. I kept reassuring myself this was the right move and over time I'd come to appreciate how right this all was. I really think I owe a deep gratitude to the members of VST. Your stories, kind words and encouragement put me on the road to a much better life. Each passing day I feel stronger. It really is nice over on the Loser's Bench.

Dr Teng used the 32f bougie and the endostitch with hand stitch. I saw my new stomach during the leak test. It actually looks like a Cuban cigar! Albeit longer. Well I'm gonna walk and then rest. Chat with ya later.

LOL, @ Cuban cigar. Glad you made it through. I know its tough going with the pain and all, but I think you did the right thing for your mental and physical health. If it helps, imagine all the things you are gonna be doing once you are all healed. It must of felt sweet to be repulsed by crispy bacon, I couldn't imagine that right now. Congrats

Oh it got even better, CT. She made homemade spaghetti with pomodoro sauce. Was I repulsed? Not a lot but I didn't want any! I'm gonna try some broth today. I can feel some hunger kicking in. The jell-o was ok but I'm starting not to like a lot of sweets. Also, everyone in the Vegas valley. Dr Teng's support group is tonight at MountainView. I'm thinking of going and would love to see any of you there.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
