4 weeks post op here, totally felt the same way when i was one week. now im feeling greaat and loving it.....it'l get better...just keep drinking, and walking.

i am 4 weeks out tomorrow. I am still having problems eating, (Pain), but I am walking about a mile a day and I know i am not eating quite enough. MY problem is that I hit a stall a week and a half ago and the scale just moves up a pound, down a pound, up 2 pounds, down one pound. I know this is supposed to be normal, but I just cannot go back to where I was a week and a half ago! I am so upset about this. Right now I am afraid I am going to fail at this.

I heard several people say they thought the same thing about a week or two out. I did too. Actually I'm only a month out and every now and them I still think it. Though everyone I've talked to said just wait a few months and you'll never look back. I hope this helped. Hang in there.

it is totally normal to feel this way. stalls are totally normal as well. i am in a little stall right now too. i know that it will go away soon...just keep the faith. it is impossible for us not to eventually lose weight with how little we are able to eat. your body is just in shock right now. when it finally gets over the shock the weight will come off. keep the faith!

:) and just keep smiling. you will get there!

Suez1105 -- something that you said caught my attention:

"Also I am having pain only on my right upper abdomen but it's not close to where any incisions are. I mean it hurts especially when I move but it's not terrible but is this normal?"

Rapid weight-loss can evidently cause gallstones which would cause upper right quadrant pain. Do a search within the forum for: gallbladder You will find questions and descriptions about this problem.

I just don't want for you to be ignoring something that could be making you feel very bad indeed -- thinking that it is just normal post-surgery pain.

I hope you feel better very soon.

Thanks, I saw my surgeon on Monday and told him about it. He said that side would hurt because it's where he removed my stomach from. Thank you for taking the time to post about my health though, I really appreciate it!

Also, I am 10 days out and feeling more miserable today. I am totally exhausted. I am def not getting all my Protein in, I made an awesome shake Tuesday morning with skim milk, vanilla whey and a tiny bit of Peanut Butter and it kinda made me feel sick all day! My NUT said to use lactaid, so I am getting some today and hoping that sits better with me. The shake was absolutely devine, it tasted like a vanilla peanutbutter milkshake, but I was so disappointed when it made me sick all day.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
