I feel like Decamom, I'm down to an XL and now that they fit better and not loose, I feel so bloated/fat again....yes I'm still fat...but was feeling better in the loose clothes...LOL Go figure. It's another mind game. :P

Yep, me too, as of yesterday I have lost 4 and a half stone (which is 4lb more than my very tall seven and a half year old weighs), I am just 8lb from my ideal weight according to the charts which is actually the same weight I was at 12, do I feel better? Absolutely! Do I feel thin? Never!

I have the same thing you all do when I look at my clothes which are 5/6 sizes smaller than they were in January and wonder whose they are, but I am not really seeing it in the mirror, and I'm not sure if my brain will ever catch up!

Some days I see it other days I don't. I still have quite a ways to go as I am about half way to goal. The days I feel great, nothing can stand in the way of that feeling. Then there are days or times when I look and still see this huge blob and wonder to myself how I could have ever possibly have been 50lbs heavier as I am still huge now. Only time will tell as my mind has me scattered too!

Thank y'all so much! It's so nice to know that I'm not alone. I'm trying out saying to myself every time I look in a mirror, "You are thin and you are beautiful!" I figure if I told myself for years, "You are fat and you are ugly" and I ended up believing it, then if I keep saying the opposite to myself eventually I will believe it too! I am refusing to be miserable and unhappy with myself as I work my way to goal like I was at 299 lbs. That is NOT going to happen! I love this quote by Patsy Clairmont - "My will is stronger than my emotions." SO TRUE! Hugs, Fellow Sleevers!!!

I feel the same sometimes. I mean I see the difference in my top half, but to me my hips haven't gotten smaller. However, I know that I have gone from a size 26 to a 18 (and even some 16's). Hopefully our minds will catch up.

Funny that you mention this because I literally just completed a blog post about it this morning. I am like Krista, I don't see myself as huge anymore, but I don't see myself as thin either.... I look at pictures and can't believe it is me. Yet when I look in the mirror I don't see what I see in the thin pics. It is all very very strange! If curious, the link is below.

I'm 24 weeks out and have lost 66 lbs, but I still see myself as a super obese person!! My brain just can't seem to catch up! Here's a pic taken at dinner Wednesday evening (8/24/11)

Week24-mybdaydinner8-24-11.jpg

but I see myself like this!! (I'm on the far left)......Anyone know when this will start to change???

oh my dear how i feel for you. . . (by the way you look cute on both pictures) . . . I'm 2 years outs and still feel obese at times. I have pictures to remind myself that i am not. . . i have kept some really large clothes to remind myself as well. . i'll put them on every now and then to "remind" myself. . . it's tough especially if you've been overweight for ever, but it'll come eventually. . . hang in there my friend and keep up the good work!

When I look at my before and now pictures (not yet at "after") I see the huge difference. When I'm walking around, I FEEL the difference, but sometimes, I am confused as to whether or not I'm a fat person or an almost normal person. And I can NEVER tell how my size compares to someone else. If I didn't think it would be ridiculously annoying, I would be constantly asking people, am I bigger, smaller, or the same size as her?

You look great, Dana! Keep up the good work.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
