"OMG"!! I blew right past my goal !! Gotta love this sleeve!!! LOLS

Recommended Posts

Hi all!!! I am 6 months and 10 days Post-Op and after my workout today I decided to weigh-in just to check - LOLS !! And I am 1 lb. under my goal!! I just couldn't believe my eyes I had to step off the scale and get back on a second time just to make make sure!! LOLS!! I am just loving this sleeve is all I can say!! I am 57 years old and 5'7" tall and consider myself to be large boned. So for all you senior SLEEVERS out there this CAN be done.:D Just incase anyone is wondering. When I started this journey I was in a size 32 womens jeans. Now I can wear a size 8 or a size 10 jeans depending on the cut of the pants. I wear usually a medium top because I have large shoulders but if they are a generous cut a small sometimes. I don't EVER REMEMBER wearing a size 8 pants , possibly in grade school I would guess.

I don't want to go too much lower though but would like to have like 5 lbs. that I can "Bounce" around with. My question is then - will my weight kinda like hit a level at which I should be at all by itself? Or what does a person need to do to keep the weight at a certain point once your goal is met?

I was working out about 1 & 1/2 hours 3 days a week, but this week I cut down to 1/2 hour workouts 3 times a week to see if I could maintain without going too much lower.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! And have a good rest of the week all!!

Many congrats ! ! ! As for maintenance, the advice/recommendation I was given is to add healthy fats via foods such as avocados, nuts, Peanut Butter, cooking in olive oil etc etc. Good solid, healthy fats without changing my portion size. I had to add carbs to get my losing to start, and I added back all foods in moderation, tiny bits at a time. Just adding in 100-200 calories per day with a healthy snack. It took about 4 months to get my weight stabilized, and I had the 5lb bounce around that I was comfortable with for my sanity.

Throw in some almonds, pistachios, Peanut Butter with 1/4 of an apple, or some wheat thins. That's pretty much what I did.

Thanks Tiffykins I will certainly try your recomendations ! I copied a recipe on here for sweet and salty nuts made with splenda I think I will try that too. Thought maybe I could add in a Atkins bar once a day maybe too.

You are such a great support on this site. Thanks for your help with everyone! And good luck with your little sprout!

Wow...this is awesome. My body went into maintainance short of 10 lbs of my goal. I have tried but I am boucing around at 155. Though to be honest, my collar bones are very visable and if I would lose any more in that area I would probably start looking sickly. My extra weight seems to be hanging around my belly area but I am still wearing a size 10 which I have not done that since before high school. So am not going to worry about the last few pounds. I am still healthy and doing things I never could even a year ago. Congrats and good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
