I am so disappointed in me. I fell off this weekend. I found that I can eat small portions of what my family is eating, So I am now going back to full liquid for a while and keeping up with my working out. I abused my tool.

Hi there,

If you don't mind, when was your surgery? Are you still supposed to be on liquids right now? If so, then do please get back on them ASAP. Keep in mind the reason our surgeons put us on these post op diets is to protect our health. Eating too soon can lead to a whole host of really bad complications including leaks. Leaks have been known to keep people in the hospital recovering for months, and can even lead to death. Please take this very seriously.

If you're able to eat what your family is eating now, then really I say don't beat yourself up. It's ok once in awhile to let go, but just get back on the weight loss bandwagon right away. Don't let it linger too long, for the longer you do the harder it is to get back to losing.

HTH - and all the very best!!

MEMEMEMEME .

I was told to start on day 7 after surgery eating moist solid foods. one at a time chewing to baby food consistancy.

suggestions were:

canned chicken fish, tun egs cottage cheese tofu yogurt refried Beans and all cooked and peeled veggies.

I guess each doctor is different.

After 8 weeks I could eat what I could tolerate, as long as it was lean Proteins veggies and whole grains. and try to get 800-1000 calories in and 60-75 grams of Protein in daily.

I am no where near that as of now. I am only getting in 250 calories a day on average.

I am so VERY thirsty! but I find if all I do is drink to satisfy my thirst, I can not eat at all and can go 6-7 hours with no real food......

I think I can eat anything after week 9 so my progression seems a bit slower - but not too off!

Unless I get thrown for a surprise, I get mushies on the 30th of August and no limits at the next two week appointment after that.

I had surgery on August 11.

I haven't done any diet advancing, but I understand the temptation. I wanted to chew something today. In the end, it was gum.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
