Hi All!

I was sleeved on Tuesday August 16th at 7:30 am. The sergury took about 3 hours total. I had to have a hilatal hernia repaired also. Everything went well in recovery

and I progressed enough with post op instructions that I don't have to have the shots in the belly and I got to have my drain out too! Yahoo for the drain

going. It did hurt when it got pulled out. I came home on Thursday at noon. I have not had any trouble with nausea or throwing up. However, I do have a lot

of gas rumblings and it is tied to Diarrhea, so I do not trust any gas pains right now.The pain in my shoulder sucks as it hurts when using my breathing

machine thingy they sent home with me. I had a shower today and the incision where the drain tube was in is not closed yet, so will keep an eye on that until it does

close. No problems getting my Water and Protein in so far. I feel absolutely great! I read everyones story in the forums and was prepared for a really rough time,

but it just shows everyone is different, so be brave, and go for it!!! I will keep everyone up to date every couple of days, or if I run into any problems.Got to get my

ticker going!

Thanks!! I don't know how long the runs will last, but I noticed it is better so far today. I don't know where anything could be coming from since I did the cleanout thing the night before surgery and have had just Protein Drinks and sugarfree Jello since. I have lost 3 lbs since surgery! Tmi I know! But got to tell the good bad and ugly for the folks considering a sleeve. It is all good so far and will get better each day!

I also had my surgery on the 16th. this is the first day I feel like getting on line. I had a tough go in the hospital with nausea and my B/P kept spiking. I can't keep the liquid loratab down so I am in some discomfort but liquid tylenol seems to help a little. I finally got a spooneful of yogurt down this morning, but haven't been able to progress much past Clear Liquids. I know this is TMI but I had a bowel moment yesterday evening and boy did that feel great. Mile of Magnesia did the trick. Difficult sleeping at night but napping during the day in a chair. I get my drain out Monday and I think after that I will be much better. I put a pillow under my knees and that seemed to help somewhat at night. Nothing taste good at the moment, but the yogurt was refreshing, even if it was just a spoonful. Any thoughts out there on clear liquids that taste good but not toooooo sweet. owl

I have been drinking propel zero Water and either chicken or beef broth. Popsicles and Jello are helping a lot too. I hope you feel better.

Awesome to all of you that just had your surgery- it's nice to know what to expect right after surgery- i wonder if gasx strips help with the shoulder pain?

You might ask dr first but treat diarrhea like you normally would with OTC medicine. Tell away, it is good to get it out of the system.

I guess cause the Dr said trust no farts and you could have some explosive diahrrea, I assumed that it was ok. However, since it did not start until Friday and it is the weekend, I didn't know whether or not to take something. It is not a good feeling to wonder if I could make it if we go somewhere. Anybody else have diahrrea afterwards? If so, how long did it last and did you take something for it? Thanks for any help on this.

i had my surgery on the 16th as well. i had my first bm yesterday, and i thought it was just a fart, boy was i wrong...lol

anyhow, i have been doing well with chicken broth that is luke warm, as well as split pea Soup luke warm. sf popsicles are good for the thirst, but i make sure to let it melt in my mouth first before swallowing otherwise it hurts the tummy being so cold.

i only had the squirts for about 1 hour and then they were gone. i wouldnt recomend taking a anti diahrea med right now as it isnt good to take them when you havent even had surgery. most docs dont recomend you taking them at all because there is a reason that your body is getting rid of your bm that way.

my surgery sites are already closed up and healing really nice. they look like cat scratches now. i didnt have a drain tube at all.

question; is it common for the doc to just do steri strips on this operation? just currious, i thought that they would do staples or stiches, but am totally stoaked that he did steri strips.

congrats on all the recent sleevers! we totally rock!!!

Definatly don't trust farts! Don't do it unless u r on the toilet. or sit on a towel. I couldn't fart without the extra til day 5. Didn't take anything for it, just let it run it's course.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
