Well last Wednesday started off as any normal day, so I thought. After being at work for about 45 minutes I started experiencing extreme upper abdominal pain (personal I thought it was gas). The pain continued and got so intense that I left work. I ended up at the ER and had a ultrasound of my gall bladder. The pain was due to passing gall stones. I was admitted into the hospital and had my gall bladder removed the next morning.

On July 4th I was exactly 12 weeks post-op and have lost a total of 58 pounds. The problem is I don't feel hungry at all since I have been released from the hospital. I almost feel like I've started back when I first started eating solid foods after surgery. This is as far as the amount I can now eat. I was told that my gall bladder issues were probably from my extreme weight loss. Has anyone had their gall bladder removed after they were sleeved and have you had any issues with eating and drinking?

I can't answer that as I still have mine- but I was immediately put on anti gallstone medication after my surgery. Sorry you had to go through this!

So sorry to hear this happened, but it sounds like you are on the mend now! I live in fear that this is going to happen to me. Both my Mom and sister had to have their gall bladders removed after significant weight loss and I am thinking why should I be any differerent? I don't understand why they just don't remove your gall bladder at the time of the weight loss surgery?

Other than the pain on the day you went to the hospital did you have any prior symptoms? Just trying to understand what to watch for.

Hope your recovery is smooth!

I know this is not what your asking, but I had mine out two months before my surgery and it took time for me eat normally. Our gall bladder helps our bodies digest and absorb lipids, I think it takes time adjusting to not having a gall bladder along with that your body is still adjusting to your new stomach. Soon you body will get used to it, Feel better Janine

I had my gallbladder out 5 weeks after I got sleeved. It's not uncommon to have issues with your gallbladder after rapid weight loss. I have had several surgeries in my lifetime and have always found that my appetite is diminished for a while afterwards. Any time you get pumped full of drugs along with the trauma of surgery, it's gonna take some time to feel "normal" again and that includes a normal appetite.

I don't recall having issues prior to passing the gall stones but my surgeon did day that it probably had been going on for some time. I guess I was chalking the pain up to acid reflex. Just glad I can put that behind me. Thanks everyone!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
