Weird reaction this morning

Recommended Posts

So i decided to bring some of the chicken I made in the crockpot to work with me today. I was going to eat it for Breakfast since I typically don't get a lot of Protein in that meal unless I drink a shake (can't eat eggs). So I am at work and I ate about 1oz of the chicken and I suddenly have this overwhelming feeling that I am going to be sick. Well I barely made it to the bathroom before I vomited all I had just eaten.

I have never had a problem with chicken before and I just ate this same chicken 2 nights ago for dinner. Of course after it happened I feel just fine now. I have only thrown up once before this since surgery, it just seemed really weird. Any ideas? I was taking Prevacid for my acid reducer and ran out and I had a coupon for Prilosec so this morning is the first time I took that, not sure if that had anything to do with it.

maybe it was too dry after sitting in the fridge for a couple days????. or did you eat too fast?

i am 6 weeks out and still can not do chicken. i tried my first meal was chicken salad and that was a BIG mistake!!!i can not do canned or grilled!! the only type i can do is chicken luchmeat! it feels stuck in my throat. i don't get sick, but there is a lump in there for hours! i have only tried twice and do not intend to try again for a LONG time!

sorry that happened to you, maybe wait a while before trying it agian.

I find my tummy is sensitive in the mornings. The other day I tried a sample Multivitamin and within 5 mins of taking it I had that saliva thing in the mouth that says everything is coming up. Got to the bathroom just in time. Now I am not sure if it was the Multivitamin or if my sensitive stomach just did not want anything in it that early.

Give it a couple of days and try again. See if your tummy does the same thing.

I think you may be right about the sensitivity thing. I seem to be able to eat a better variety of flavors in the evening and in the morning it is typically cream of wheat or something pretty bland. And, the chicken was pretty dry but I don't think I was going to fast. chicken has been up to this point one of the easy foods for me to eat.

Thanks for your responses.

Did everything else go down and stay down the rest of the day? Were you able to eat other "real" foods?

My frustration is that I have no pattern. None. I thought I'd be able to know when I could eat, what I could eat. Nope. Changes every day. Most days I eat better at night. Tonight I'm not at all interested in food and will have to force a bit.

Just no rhyme or reason for me.

I didn't feel great for the rest of the day. I ate a very small, low Protein lunch because it was bland, then I started feeling a bit weak. I had a pure Protein Bar at like 3pm and dinner went down just fine, some beef and brown gravy. I agree with you, i start to think I know what I can eat and then the next time I have it it doesn't always go down right.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
