Just asking.. Dont Laugh!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Just for the sake of knowing ....... Im going to ask this question and no one think that Im silly please lol .. I just wanna know so then I can stop wondering and happily wait for that day.. so..

So my ALL TIME fave food to eat are Spinach Pies. Its spinach, a little lemon juice, and onions all mixed together. You then get dough (whole wheat for me now) and you cut out a little dough and put the mix inside. You fold the dough over the mix in the shape of a triangle. Then you bake it. You can use as much dough as you want depending on the thickness you like .. I have always liked mine with just a little dough. They come out really soft, not hard or tough.

My question is .. WHEN THE HECK CAN I EAT THIS!!!! This has been the only freakin food I have been craving lately. I think once I know when I can have it.. I will just be working hard to get to that point.

Anyone have any ideas? :) Love you guys!!

I would count it as a mushy/puree/soft food stage. It sounds like a perogi or wonton of sorts with spinach, or like a mini little quiche. Would that be the correct assumption? Dip that bad boy in some Greek yogurt. Be careful with the dough as it may expand on you a bit if you're still early out, but it's be considered a mushy by the definition/directions you've given.

I'd say the same as Tiffykins, even though I wasn't allowed to have carbs for awhile... Can't you just leave the dough and eat only the spinach? Or just try a very small bite, chew it like 100 times and see how it goes... If there are no problems then you can have a bit more... I remember throwing up everything at the beginning, I think the dough would have made me embrace the toilet too, but thank goodness we are all different!

I , too like spinach pies. However, the ones that I have had had a crust similar to a pita bread.. I would not consider eating them until I got to the "regular" food stage. They are in no way soft or mushie. Just my opinion, but I'd rather wait than get sick or do damage

Yeah ive had those too. But these are homemade, using mininal dough. The ones ive had at restaurants are harder, even crunchy on the corners and thick dough

The ones I always have are Greek style made with phyllo dough which is a very thin pastry dough and gets crunchy. I don't think that would expand and would probably give you very little carbs if you only used one layer.

Spanikopita <<<that's what it's called. Google a recipe, only when they call for layers, just don't do multiple layers with the dough, maybe just a top and bottom. I'm sure I could tweak this to be sleeve friendly. I may do that anyway because I love the stuff. Hmmm, some feta or lf cottage cheese for Protein, maybe some Protein Powder too in the spinach mixture....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
