Great.. flight booked and just noticed a problem!!

Recommended Posts

So i booked my flight to back East in September for my bday .. usually I get an aisle seat with a moveable armrest so I am not squishing the person next to me. The last 2 times i have flown.. i actually got lucky and no one had booked the seat directly next to me.. score!

SO .. after booking 10 min ago .. I went to select my seat (always fly American Airlines) and I realized that the specific plane Im on going there... is a 3 seater on both sides of the plane.. usually its 2 seat on one side and 3 on the other. This one has NO moveable armrests ANYWHERE on the plane!! Normally the 2 seater side does not, but the 3 seater side always does... :( Im pretty sure that after losing weight between now and then that I can squeeze my fat ass into it.. but who the hell knows, and how freakin embarrassing :(

I am super worried, super nervous that this is going to be a problem. UGH.. anyone experience this???

Hi!

Dont fret it... get a window seat, towards the back of the plane. I am a frequent traveler and alway get window towars the back, I always take a sweater and I pull the seat belt towards the window, put my sweater over me (but the seat belt show some) and it looks just like you are safely buckled in... no problem! I have been flying this way for years!

Hopefully some day I will fit comfortably in a plane seat.

Safe travels

I fly often and have no problem asking for an extender from the stewardess when i first come onto the plane. Better safe than embrassed but i am certain your "skinny" little butt will surprise you and you will not have to worry about either. Happy Birthday and safe flying. DON'T GIVE UP, YOU ARE WORTH IT!!

I hear ya girl! I have the same problem at baseball games and movie theatres. If I can't move that arm rest I am miserable. I am confident you are gonna have room to spare by then though!!biggrin.gif

Ask the stewardess to help you find the seat with moveable armrest. possibly near the back close to the bathroom may only have 2 seaters. Or call the airline and see if they can't help you with the location of a moveable armrest. they are bound to have one on the plane somewhere or be able to make reasonable accomadations for you. If not, try another air line if you won't lose your money. I hate skinny people butted airplanes...wait one day i will hate myself cause i will be a skinny people butted person...yeah let me know how it turns out.

Thanks! but.. its not the seatbelt im worried about.. its just fitting my butt into a seat with no moveable armrest! ugh

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
