Congratulations! I was sleeved last year, July 25th also by Dr. Mitchell Roslin at Lenox Hill Hospital. We must be kindred spirits because I also used to live in the same are you live in on Albert Einsteins Campus. I am going to see Dr. Roslin next week Friday.

You have found a great place here for support and if you ever want to meet in person as a support system for each other I am more than happy to do so.

I am definitely interested in meeting everyone. Just tell me when and where. I will out of town August 1st - August 11th. Those are the only days I won't be available.

Hi, I live in Jackson Heights, Queens. I think it would be good if we could all meet up one day. Let me know when and where. I have to see my PCP for my last progress report which completes my 6 months and the rest of the paperwork which he will do that day. Then on Friday, the 27th I meet with the surgeon and hand in all the paperwork. I'm not sure what will happen then but I am hoping I get a surgery date or at least pre-testing appointments! I'm nervouse but excited!! :)

Keep cool today!!

Yay awesome we have people interested! :) Any ideas on an activity that would be good for both pre and post ops? I was thinking an outdoors picnic type thing at a park and we can all bring some sleeve friendly (or diet friendly for pre opers) foods? Just don't want it to be too hot (I don't do well in the heat- I'm fat and pale as a ghost so I sweat AND burn lol) Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!! Sorry for the late response for some reason I can't see this group from my iphone. Dr. Roslin is great. Meeting up doesn't sound like a bad idea

Hey all!

My name is Ivy and I'm from Brooklyn (work in Washington Heights). I'll be getting revision surgery from the Lap Band to the Gastric Sleeve on Sept 17. I'm a little nervous but mostly excited. My Band surgery was 14 months ago and I'm happy to be moving forward with the Sleeve as it seems it will be a better fit for me.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
