SWEATING all the time.....

Recommended Posts

I am getting sleeved on June 27th.....Can someone tell me if I will quit sweating all the time. I have low thyroid and high prolactin levels. I also have PCOS. Of course, I live in Texas and the temp here is triple digits everyday, but this is ridiculous..... even in 72 degree air conditioned house I am dripping. Can anyone out there relate?????? I am hoping that after the surgery, i will get rid of the excess ghrelin and it will go away.....

I used to hate the summer as I just overheated all the time. Being fat means you are carrying a load of insulation. As soon as it starts to go you will experience the odd feeling of being cold!! I am quite reptilian these days, if the sun comes out I love to bask in it and soak up the rays. Wish I was in Texas and not in the UK because our summer is being pants as usual!

I don't get cold all the time, though I do get chilled easier than pre-op. I still get hot and sweat a bit, but nothing like before I had the surgery. Trying on clothes used to make me sweat like a mad woman, now I can do it without feeling like I will drop dead of heat. I tend to sweat more from the neck up than anywhere else on my body (niiiiice), so I am glad to not be a red, dripping-faced, dripping-haired nutter anymore! :D

That all said, our summer is not so hot thus far.

I was wondering if you are still around. I have very high prolactin caused by a pituitary tumor. Do you take medication for the high prolactin and how did that affect your surgery? Thanks!

From my experience, those who sweating shall check their heart rate, body temperature and if there is any, even subtle pain in left arm.

If your HR is around 100-120 bpm. Then you have to call your surgeon immediately.

For me sweating was a first symptom of abscess (200 ml puss filled cavity in abdomen) due to a gastric leak :(. Later I got high HR, left shoulder pain, fever.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
