Hello fellow bandsters! I too was banded in Mexico on 6/14/06 with Dr. Ortiz. I have never been so happy, i was not approved here in the US but I guess they want you to be huge in order to qualify. i think everyone with a overweight bmi should get it. Well I would love to meet people that have been banded and have a moral support group. I live in Fredericksburg, va but travel alot up north. I would love to have another get together if possible. I just got my first fill last week. The Dr. was in Tysons and pretty good so if you need info let me know. Has anyone had a fill so far? Please let me know how it went. Im getting nervous that I wont loose anyweight so far. ive lost 21 pounds so far but kinda at a stand still. Please anyone let me know. Also I heard that thel ess you have to loose the slower Fill me in guys

Hi,

I am in Southwest,Va Near the N.C. Line. Good luck and keep in touch.

Hi, to all VA bansters. I would love to get together after my surgery (Aug 1st) only 3 days away, I am so excited. I seem to be one of the oldest ones in the group. I will be 52 on Aug. 5th the day after I get back. I have been overweight all my life, it sure would have been wonderful if this was available to me when I was your age. Lets set a date to get together in late Sept. We all all over the state, so we can pick a location in the middle. I live in Woodbridge but I can see that we are stattered all the way between Leesburg and Richmond. So lets all pick a date, see who can come then pick a meeting place.

Dr. Eric is my doc. They will not fill mexican banded patients. Generally they will not fill patients they did not band, unless it is a relocated patient from a doc they have a relationship with.

Sorry.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
