I am really glad to hear you're going to be able to do this. Good luck to you. I've heard from people who had tummy tucks that generally even if they had more weight gain/loss after the tuck that their tummy still looked better than it did before the plastic surgery...so I think it's probably well worth it even if you need touch up work later.

A Tummy Tuck is the one plastic surgery procedure I would dearly love to have. I haven't had any kids (or any other abdominal procedures) but my panniculus is about a "grade 2" also. Everyone thought my skin would snap back from the weight loss because I'm relatively young (I'm 21) but I have a lot of stretch marks on my tummy and I think it was just stretched beyond the point of return at my highest weight.

It's bad enough that I had a lady I was helping at work ask me if I was pregnant! Agh!

(By the way, for those who don't already realize it, it's NEVER a good idea to ask a woman if she's pregnant unless you already know the answer - both of us felt bad after I had to tell her, no, I'm not pregnant  )

I would LOVE to be able to get a tummy tuck right now but haven't really pursued it because I thought that the surgeons would surely decline to do it until I'm at goal. It gives me hope that you have found surgeons who are willing to do it.

OH MY...You are all cracking me up!

Great pics by the way...eesh...I would say I'm about a grade 1 maybe 2...but man my hips have been killing me lately...now I realize it may be from the weight loss and my big...not exactly talented...pannus...LOL...

I'm going to check my summary plan description right now to see if it is covered...

My company flew us to San Diego for our Christmas party, since that's where our home office is. So I was placing all the voices I knew to faces. I asked someone "which one is Sandy." Sandy was my pregnant phone buddy, and I was dying to meet her in person. So I was pointed to the short-haired-blonde in the red sweater. So I walked up to her and said, "so, exactly when is baby due?" That bitch said, "I'm not pregnant!" Ouch. I said, "Sandy, it's me, Lisa." She said, "I'm not Sandy." Sandy was a couple feet away - they both had short blonde hair wearing red. Good rule - never, ever ask about pregnancy till they tell you first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
