Hello everyone I would like to thank the group for helping me with my decision to do the sleeve. I am not a big writer so I never really signed up just followed everyone on their journey from a distance and I am so excited with the out come of you guys!!

I decided to do the surgery in Tijuana with dr betancourt and scheduled an app to talk about the sleeve and he scheduled me for this Friday the 13th!!! Good thing I am not superstitious!!

I like many of you am scared and then excited. I am having some issues with saying goodbye to my good friend food. I am programing a goodbye to ribs and sushi and cake and Carmel corn is this normal? I have to do 3 days diet pre.

This all happened So fast! I have been over weight since age 7. Around age 25 I got down to a size 6 with diet and Lipo and in 4 years gained it al back and in places I never had thought. Since then torturing my body with every diet that exist and not cheap.

I am rambling sorry.

Thank you for all your posts just reading about people who feel the same and same fears ( like dying !! And or getting suck and then dying!! )

O have one question. I am a professional singer. Any one else sing? How long until I can go back to work? My doc said 6 weeks and I think that is kinda long.

Thx <3

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
